Hyue K. Kwon, DDS, MDS
Dr. Kwon graduated from Wellesley College with Cum Laude, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biological Sciences. Then, she obtained her DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from the University of Maryland, Dental School, where she graduated with Magna Cum Laude and the Harry E. Kelsey Award. Dr. Kwon was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Kwon pursued her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also received her MDS (Masters degree in Dental Surgery). Dr. Kwon practiced orthodontics in Maryland for three years prior to opening her practice in northern Virginia.
Dr. Kwon is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, Northern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club, and the Korean American Dental Association. Dr. Kwon pursues regularly continuing education seminars to continue to provide quality services to patients based on Evidence Based clinical and scientific knowledge. Furthermore, becoming a board certified orthodontist displays that Dr. Kwon is constantly pursuing excellence in her practice of orthodontics.
As a native of South Korea, Dr. Kwon lived in Paraguay, South America, for ten years prior to moving to the United States in 1986. Dr. Kwon is fluent in English, Korean, and Spanish. Dr. Kwon and her husband enjoy traveling, watching movies, and reading books.
